CHINDI - A MUST TO VISIT PLACE

During my recent visit to CHINDI, we discovered that surprisingly we have landed up in heaven. The majestic view of hills having a rich cover of pine & deodar trees, apple orchards and breath taking views all around thats Chindi for u in District Mandi in Himachal Pardesh. There is so much to offer and it was beyond my expectations. Me and my wife also a doctor swing off to a holiday every year and this time my plan was to discover tribal himachal and travel to Leh-Ladakh via kinnaur. With every little detail collected and shared, she refused at 11th hour to visit these places as the rainy season was just started.During rainy season most of these areas reamin cut off due to land slides. I have to make a change in plans and on the very same day I visited HPTDC' reservation office at Scandel point, Shimla.

I walked out with a reservation as I was very well councelled by the lady officer there. The plan went like : 1st two days in Hotel Mamleshwar CHINDI, next one day in Hotel Shrikhand Sarahan and two days in Sangla. My wife was also contented and releived as she now dont have to travel in rainy season. At that time I was little bit disappointed that I have to cancel my earlier plan.

Next day we started our Journey from Shimla via taxi. Our taxi driver was a young boy in early 20s. first halt was Tattapani and is famouw for its hot springs. We avoided to take a dip in hot springs as it was noon time and scortiching heat was discouranging me to do that. Instead we decided to have our lunch there. At that point of time I came to know abt that my taxi driver is a Mechanical engineering 2nd year student. His parents run this business. Taxi driver who were supposed to come with us had some misshappening and this boy subsituited him.He was just nineteen yrs old and a very much sincere lad..... "SAHIL is my name sir"........... he told me this thing at the time of boarding the taxi at Shimla with such a grace that I was more than impressed.

It took abt two hrs to Chindi from Tattapani. As we were entering our hotel I discovered that this hotel is situated in a solitary place surrounded by deodar trees to one side and an apple orchard to other. There are hardly any habitaions around. The staff was very much cordial. We checked in The Maharani Suite on the third floor of the hotel. While walking around the stairs I noticed that hotel was very much neat and clean. This hotel is recently built and what a location it has? all the rooms are very well maintained and u simply will lost in its beautifull surroundigs.

Next day we set off to Mahunag temple, Kamakshya devi, Mamleshwar Mahadev,Temple of Chindi. There are several places around that just were not enough. Famous Shikari Mata temple is 13 km away from CHINDI.Karsog valley is 13 km and shimla is 87 km.I was impresed to know that HPTDC is banking upon offbeat stations and the success of chindi is Example. We decided to return there in future and set off our journey to our next destination SARAHAN.

At that point of time I came to know that my lovely wife has architected a beautifull holiday.
